What Are The Office Policies?

Arrival Policy - First time clients. Please arrive at least 8-10 minutes prior to your appointment to discuss medical history. Repeat clients. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to discuss any concerns related to the session. My appointments are a full 60 or 90 minutes so if you arrive at the start time you will lose minutes from your session.

Cancellation Policy - I require 24 hours notice for cancellations. Clients that cancel less than 24 hours before the start time of their appointment will be charged 50% of the service. This must be paid prior to scheduling your next appointment. Clients who chronically cancel (2 or more consecutive sessions) will not be permitted to reschedule.

Late Arrival - All treatment sessions run on schedule. If you arrive late you will lose time from your session. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late you will need to be rescheduled and you will be charged 50% of the service fee.

No Show Policy - Clients who no show will be charged 50% of the service fee. Clients that chronically no show (2 or more consecutive sessions) will not be permitted to reschedule.

What Do I Wear To My Appointment?

This depends on the type of session you schedule.

Neurosomatic Therapy - please wear comfortable clothing such as a tank top or sports bra and yoga pants for women and gym shorts for men. I will be taking measurements to assess postural dysfunctions and then based on the chart you will receive a targeted, outcome based massage. If indicated, draping will be provided.

Muscle Energy Technique - please wear comfortable clothing such as a tank top or sports bra and yoga pants for women and gym shorts for men. I will be assessing distortions in the pelvis and sacrum. You will receive a targeted, outcome-based massage. If indicated, draping will be provided.

Clinical Massage Therapy - Clients generally book this appointment for a specific condition. Clients coming for Dupuytren's Contracture or Trigger Finger will stay fully clothed while someone with Frozen Shoulder will be properly draped on the table.

Sports Massage Therapy - Men - Please wear comfortable, form fitting shorts such as boxer briefs. Women - please wear underwear or bicycle shorts. Sports massage includes stretching so draping is a concern. Upper body will be properly draped.

Facial Massage Clients - Men - shorts or underwear. Women - An esthetic spa wrap will be provided.

Therapeutic Massage Clients - Proper draping will be provided, underwear only.

Do You Offer Spa and Relaxation Massage?

No. This a medical massage office. Clients will always be expected to maintain some level of dress which can vary from completely clothed to a combination of draping and shorts or underwear bottoms. For clients wanting a spa relaxation massage, Swedish massage, Hot stone, Prenatal, or skincare services. I am happy to provide you a referral based on whether you are in the Guilford or Bethel areas.

What's the difference between your facial work and an esthetician?

Great question. My sessions correct the face by beginning with posture and the decollete area to improve skeletal alignment, restore blood flow, and lymph drainage. This work is cumulative with a focus on the muscles of the face and neck, fat pads, ligaments, cranial bones, scalp and almost always includes intra-oral massage. Sessions are usually 1-2x a week to begin which is determined by clients age, overall composition of the face. People with thinner faces and more volume loss will take longer to achieve results. Once a realistic result is achieved, most clients come once a month for maintenance and all clients will be taught self-massage techniques to help maintain results at home. Clients with bad habits such as computer/phone, clench or grind teeth, sleep with their mouth open, squint, etc.  may need to come more often to maintain results if they cannot modify habits that directly affect the facial oval and esthetics of the face.
